Do you have a problem taking money from friends? This came up recently when a friend who shouldn't have been playing (financially things are tight for them) and they lost pretty big. I tried to not take their money, I really felt bad.
Do you struggle with this? Strangers are definitely easier. |

I don't have a problem taking their money because we always try to talk them out of playing and its their fault if they decide to play anyways. We do sneak the money back into the "broke" persons purse but that usually isn't needed because they usually play with what they can afford to lose

While my friends and I have helped each other out of many a scrape, financially related or otherwise, when it comes to poker we keep it fun. We don't play what we can't afford to lose. Friends have bowed out of the game during a time of financial crunch...usually we are willing to switch to playing for coupons or chores so we can include everyone.

I think that trading off to play for something other than money can be a great relief to those who still want to play for fun, but don't have the financial means to play for cash. That being said, I think that those who continue to play with cash when they don't have the money take responsibility for themselves. I might still feel guilty, however, depending on the situation.
