Poker star celebrates $50,000 tournament win

A Rickmansworth woman is savouring the sweet taste of success after winning first prize and $50,000 in an international poker tournament.
Television producer Aisling Collins, 28, won the Party Poker Women’s World Open title in London on Wednesday.



Ms Collins, an experienced player, spoke of her shock at her biggest ever win and said it was yet to sink in. She said: “I was so nervous going into this tournament but after a while I found it easy to relax and play my natural game. “To win this tournament means absolutely everything to me. My previous biggest poker win was in the region of $8,000 so this is amazing. “I’m in shock. It is fantastic to win $50,000 – I just don’t know what I am going to do with it yet."



A Party Poker spokesman said: “Aisling was a fantastic and deserving winner and overall we were delighted.”
