I have watched Nickelodeon many times, and I never see inappropriate commercials, I'm not quite sure if that's exactly true. I also have to ask, what's wrong with tampon ads?

I'm another one here who has not got a problem with protecting my kid from it. She has no business watching the kind of TV that ads like that would show on-heck, she shouldn't even be awake when most of that is on!

I definitely think there are some sexual ads that aren't necessary for television, but I don't think that certain health related ads should be limited. I am one who thinks that ads promoting safe sex, menstrual related products, and diseases should be shown on TV. I do not, however, appreciate commercials that are completely degrading to women, and glamorize the using of women as sexual objects.

I couldn't agree more. A smart move right now would be to include ads that appeal to women players as well. It is only sexist because for a very long time it was hardly lady-like for a woman to play cards and drink beer. Even the barmaids may have served the beer, along with other things, but history doesn't write about them playing.

I wonder how much of it is a matter of demographic. What exactly is the percentage of poker players who are female? The advertisers are going to focus on the larger proportion, and that often means men.
