Who do you think tends to have better manners at the Poker table - men or women? What do you think is so different about them that makes one better in terms of manners?

Honestly, I don't think there's a difference between men and women, it's the individuals who are playing and who they're with, how they relate to the others. We only have one sore loser amongst our friends and he's not a bother with us, but I know when the game is more serious to him he gets short with people.

I think that women are expected to have the better manners, but I think that in all actuality, it really doesn't matter what sex the person is.

It depends on what manners you are talking about. I have been around a large number of burping blokes with beer whose manners I definitely questioned! Otherwise, if it's relating only to the game and not testosterone levels, it's all the same.

I would go ahead and say that manners includes testosterone levels at the table, at least for me. I like to play with the guys on occasion, but sometimes they do tell jokes and make comments that make me slightly uncomfortable. Nothing huge though.

Yeah, I would have to say that manners are more about the type of person the individual is. Although, as MissJack said some men tend to make comments that are practically innendueos and it makes me feel awkward

Of course women are capable of making those types of comments and innuendos too, but at the same time, it's men that seem to be the least embarrassed about it. My mom was over playing Poker with me and some male friends, and they were making comments that made me feel very uncomfortable. I think women (generally) reserve the comments for a later time.

I think that men and women can both be the same when it comes to comments and being rude generally, but, that said. I think that the way that we both (as sexes) behave is very different, and what we perceive as being uncouth on the behalf of men, they think is fine. Likewise what they find uncouth about us, we find fine. It's just a fundamental difference in our outlook.
